Megan and I tried out San Francisco in the late 60's, then settled down in Westchester. We lived in Rye for 33 years while I enjoyed a corporate and international law practice and Megan did volunteer work in the schools, library and art society. We raised a son and twin daughters who have provided us with five extraordinary grandchildren ranging from three months to 11 years. Since I retired a few years ago, we have  been splitting our time between houses in Alexandria, Virginia and Brunswick, Maine. In addition to spending time with our kids and grandchildren, I bike, read, walk, garden, travel, audit courses, putter and pursue community issues. Send Michael a MessageSend Michael a Message

So here I am writing, reading, teaching, dancing, walking, creating and re-inventing - and eager to hear what others find themselves doing and being in this intense time of our golden lives.  Oh, and loving it all, grand children especially, and summers in Maine.  Sunsets, dramatic skies, new ideas, old relationships.   A new list daily.
I wish all the curiosity and energy to come together and remember.

I'll bet I am the only guy in the history of Horace Greeley that spent a career selling fire trucks. I am very happily married to my younger sister's (Lynda) college room mate, Terry for the last 30 years. Nobody marries their younger sister's room mate do they? Terry has given me two great boys and a very happy life, and now 2 grand kids. We stll have our summer home in Wayne, Maine where the Brooks clan gathers and renews every year.  Send Byron a MessageSend Byron a Message

I attended junior college in Virginia then went back to New York to continue my Spanish studies in New York City . Then I met a Japanese native who was studying English as well as his father's business which was in cotton textile manufacturing.  We married in 1965, and I moved to Japan.  We had one son who is married and living oversea: We stayed in Japan about 10 years then moved back to California primarily to be near my parents here in the San Francisco Bay Area., in 1976.
I'm Looking forward with some trepidation to the reunion.
Again, thanks so much for the wonderful job on the website. I will soon be mailing the RSVP to Ned.
See you in the fall.

I am writing this on December 7th, one day before my first grandchild is due.  My daughter, Elizabeth whom I raised all on my own from the age of 3, is not too far away in Brookline, MA so I will be able to help in between my regular work commitments.  My daughter will need extra help since she fell on the stairs leaving work at Dana Farber Cancer Institute last Thursday and fractured her ankle.

If you go to my website you can see what I do for work, at least some of it.  Prior to my consulting career I was head of sales effectiveness at Citibank, ran national account sales for Dun and Bradstreet, managed some interesting "turnarounds" such as a steel company in Canada, and started my career with IBM.

Recently I served as VP of my Mount Holyoke College class and head of Reunion 2010, where we gathered a record turnout for the 45th.  Running twelve committees for two years in addition to everything else, I hadn't a day off for months prior to Reunion.  I am now on a special task force for the Alumnae Association.

Have you heard of the Edison Awards www.edisonawards.com?  I am a judge (since 2008) and committee member, and focused on rebuilding innovation and entrepreneurship in this country.

With a mother who is over 100 years old, I figure I am only half way through my journey (as long as I stay off the phone while driving, says my daughter!).

I still spend a few weeks each summer at our Chautauqua summer home which my sisters and I inherited; this is family history for us, since we trace our family roots back to 1636 and the last couple of centuries were geographically centered in western New York State and western Pennsylvania!

I miss my brother every day but always find time for driving too fast, flying airplanes and an occasional round of golf.  Barbara and I have been married for over 40 years and now we have 3 grandsons that are the lights of our life.  I am looking forward to the reunion and have enjoyed working with our classmates to creat this website.  I am anxious to know if any of you have thoughts on how the site could be improved.

As probably has been true for many of us, life since HGHS has been divided into two very different phases. The first 42 years, were all about training for & working as a Radiologist while raising our two children. The second phase, which started with retirement 7 years ago, has been an unexpectedly joyful journey with time for reading, drawing, painting, gardening, hiking, & life's great desserts, quiet  days with my husband & the shared wonder of grandchildren.…4 & 1/2.
Advancing years have, nonetheless, brought their trials &, with increasing frequency, I am reminded to dig down deep for "the wisdom to accept what I cannot change & the strength to change what I can."
I look forward to seeing everyone, sharing memories & learning about your interests.

Hi to all! Thanks to Jane (Torborg) Holmes moving this summer to Fla., I'm the last of our class to still be living in Chappaqua! I'm retired from the Chappaqua School District but still have some personal training clients. We have 4 grandchildren - 5 years and under who we see often and absolutely adore. My two sons and their families live within 30 minutes from Chappaqua. My husband, Tony, and I are married 46 years and he still has the barbershop here in town. Look forward to seeing you at the reuinon. Our committee has been enjoying our own mini reunions as we organize this special event. Send Jean a MessageSend Jean a Message
